Isaak Ilyich Levitan is an outstanding Russian artist. The founder of genre «landscape of mood», he surprisingly authentically managed to transfer a lyrical image of the fine and light Russian nature. During the twenty-year period of creative activity Isaakom Levitan has created several hundred pictures and lots of preparatory studies. The most famous pictures of the artist are: "Birchwood" (1888), "Vladimirka" (1892), «Over eternal rest» (1894), «Fresh wind. Volga» (1895), «Spring – the big water» (1897), «Evening. A gold Reach» (1889), «Lake. Russia» (1900).
