The All-Russian Non-Governmental Organization “Association of Combat Veterans of Internal Affairs Agencies and the Internal Troops of Russia” was founded in 1992. The association unites members, servicemen and pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia agencies that took part in battle actions under a decision by the Government of the USSR and Russia. The association comprises more than 50,000 people and 76 regional offices.
The Association’s overarching mission is to provide social support and legal defense to veterans and the disabled persons that took part in battle actions in foreign countries and armed conflicts within Russia, as well as to their family members. The organization’s main tasks are to strengthen and develop veteran movement, to create laws and regulations aimed at protecting veterans and many more.
