The Kizhi Museum Reserve is located on Kizhi island on Lake Onega. The island area is an open-air museum of Russian wooden architecture which includes the Kizhi Pogost monuments: the Church of the Transfiguration (1714), the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin (1764) and the Belfry (1874). All three of them are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
