On September 23, a postcard dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Military Educational and Scientific Center Air Force Academy named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin of the Air Forces of Russia was put into postal circulation


The Zhukovsky   Gagarin Air Force Academy dates back to 1920, when the Institute of Engineers of the Red Air Force Fleet named after N.E. Zhukovsky was established.

Nowadays, the Air Force Academy is engaged in training officers, students of the tactical training level (Master’s degree program), and cadets, future officers (Specialist’s degree program). The first scientific squadron in the RF Armed Forces and the cadet corps (engineering school) were established. The educational activities in the academy are conducted by 21 faculties and 89 chairs located in Voronezh and its branches in Chelyabinsk and Syzran, as well as research centers and other subunits. The Academy also provides training of postgraduates from foreign states.

The original stamp provides images of warriors of different times; the main illustration features the emblem of the Military Educational and Scientific Center Air Force Academy named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin of the Air Forces of Russia.

In addition to the issue of the postcard with a commemorative stamp, JSC Marka will produce special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Voronezh.
