On December 8, a ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postcard with a commemorative stamp dedicated to the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

The event was attended by Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, the Head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and Artem Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka.

The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is the Russia’s oldest higher military educational institution. The grand opening of the Imperial Military Academy took place in Saint Petersburg on November 26 (December 8), 1832, in the presence of Emperor Nikolai I. For the outstanding contribution of the academic teaching staff to the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies, on May 4, 1945, the Academy was awarded the Order of Suvorov, 1st class. Since 1958, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR actively joined in the solution of new tasks related to the revolution in military matters: reorganization and technical re-equipment of the armed forces. The merits of the Academy in training of high quality specialists for the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact countries, and in science advancement were decorated with high state awards, namely the Orders of Lenin (1968) and Red Banner (1986) as well as with twelve orders and medals of foreign countries. Besides, for services in strengthening the national security and training of highly qualified military personnel, Presidential Decree No. 262 of May 23, 2015, awarded the Military Academy of the General Staff with the Order of Kutuzov.

On October 19, 2022, the postcard with a commemorative stamp was put into postal circulation in the History of the Armed Forces of Russia series and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain in the quantity of 5.5 thousand items.
