On September 20, a stamp dedicated to the Zaporozhye Region was put into postal circulation in the Regions of Russia series

The Zaporozhye Region is a region of the Russian Federation located in the south of the country, in the lower reaches of the Dnieper River. The temporary capital is Melitopol. Large cities are Berdyansk, Energodar, and Tokmak.

The Region has developed ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, machine building (including electrical, aviation and automotive engineering), energy engineering (the Europe’s largest Zaporozhskaya NPP), chemical and petrochemical sectors, food and light industries, agriculture, and pharmaceutical production. The Zaporozhye Region is the flagship and pioneer of electric power industry. The firstborn of industrialization of the city of Zaporozhye was the V. Lenin Dnieper hydroelectric station (Dneproges) built in 1932. The city of Energodar hosts the Zaporozhskaya NPP and the Zaporozhskaya TPP. The Zaporozhye Region is also one of the largest producers of agricultural products and food industry products.

The postage stamp provides images of the Monument to Marine Troopers in Berdyansk, a Victory Arch in Melitopol and the Zaporozhskaya NPP.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Melitopol as well as a maxi-card.
