On February 6, three postage stamps dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games Sochi2014 were put into postal circulation

  


The 2014 Winter Olympics was an international sporting event held in the Russian city of Sochi on February 7 through 23 of 2014, followed by the Winter Paralympic Games at the same venues.

The Program of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi included 15 winter sports disciplines arranged into seven Olympic sports. According to the results of the XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014, the Russian national team took 1st place in the team rating, having won 13 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals. Russia also set up an absolute record in the team rating at the Paralympic Winter Games by winning 30 gold, 28 silver, and 22 bronze medals.

Ten years after the Winter Games, Sochi is actively using the sports facilities built in the city: they host athletes' training activity and competitions of various levels, as well as cultural and social events.

The postage stamps provide images of the sports Facilities of the Olympic Park: the Aisberg Winter Sports Palace, the Fisht Stadium, and the Bolshoi Sports Palace. The margins of the sheet of stamps feature figure skaters and hockey players.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Sochi of the Krasnodar Territory, as well as maxi-cards.
