On February 28, a stamp featuring the Medal for Bravery was put into postal circulation in the State Awards of the Russian Federation series



State awards of the Russian Federation are the highest form of encouraging nationals for transcendental services in the defense of the Homeland, nation-building, economy, science, culture, Arts, upbringing, education, protection of citizens’ health, life and rights, charity activities and other achievements for the state. The state awards are instituted and granted by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Medal for Bravery was instituted on March 23, 2023.

The Medal for Bravery is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation for bravery and courage shown in the course of combat and other operations in defense of the Homeland and state interests of the Russian Federation, as well as in maintaining or restoring international peace and security. The Medal for Bravery may be awarded to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship. The Medal for Bravery can be of two Classes. The highest is the First Class – a Gilded Medal.

The postage stamp provides an image of the First Class Medal for Bravery.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
