On April 16, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of an illustrated pre-stamped envelope dedicated to Alexey Uvarov, an archeologist, the founder of the State Historical Museum

The event was attended by Konstantin Mogilevsky, a Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Alexey Levykin, the Director of the State Historical Museum; Nikolai Makarov, the Director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Ruslan Gagkuev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Historical Society; and Artem Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka.

Alexei Uvarov (1824-1885) was a Russian archaeologist, a Corresponding Member (1856) and an Honorary Member (1857) of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, a collector and a philanthropist. He was one of the founders of the St. Petersburg Archaeological and Numismatic Society and the Moscow Archaeological Society, an initiator of the first archaeological congresses in Russia. Alexei Uvarov was the founder and the first director of the Historical Museum in Moscow.

The Print Run is 500 thousand illustrated pre-stamped envelopes. The envelopes went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain.
